When I turned 16 I applied for a job as a part time lifeguard at my local pool. After working there for a few months I realized what I loved aquatics and wanted to maybe make a career out of it. My boss let me start teaching swim lessons but the only open swim lesson position was 35 minutes away from my house. I was dedicated to teach so 3 times a week I commuted to work on the little money I was getting from work. That's the same hard work I have been putting in for over the last year and a half. I was offered a promotion to "supervisor" about a year ago and took some extra training to do so. Now I'm a lead swim coach and a supervisor. Last summer I was offered a job at a summer camp as the Aquatics Coordinator full time 22 hours a day 5 days a week. I took the job and took a leave from my other job. I loved every bit of that.
