Successfully served three Americorps terms as a literacy interventionist, working with K-3 graders to help them reach grade level reading goals. Focusing on phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency, I provided daily 1-on-1, twenty-minute sessions with Kindergarten through 3rd grade students. I tracked data on students' continual progress using tri-annual benchmark assessments and ongoing progress monitoring assessments. I provided complete, accurate, and timely documentation of students' data, including weekly progress scores and interventions using an online database; and maintained confidentiality of all student data. I participated in coaching sessions and acted on constructive feedback. My second and third years, I was the lead interventionist, and took on many leadership roles, advocating for students, as well as coordinating with teaching staff.
