Utah State Fabrication Team
While attending USU I tried out and made it on the Fabrication Team. We competed in the 'Skills USA Competition' at UVU in Orem Utah. It consisted of four students, we were given a set of blue prints to build four jack stands out of raw material. We had to be able to read the blue prints, use all four welding processes and utilize an oxy fuel cutting torch.
That was my first experience in blue print reading and fabricating, and although we took second place, being on that team made me realize that fabricating is something I really enjoy and a trade that I would love to do for a career.
Completed the Boy Scouts Of America program through the LDS church and earned my Eagle Scout Badge.
