During my time with this company, teamwork was a big role in getting things done efficiently, as the job was a fast-paced one. Time flexibilty was also a must because we would often work more than 40 hours a week and sometimes, weekends when required. We also had to be cautious as we worked safely around heavy machinery. My position as a laborer held me liable for multiple tasks a day, including but not limited to:
- Setup, including any troubleshooting, and breakdown of events requiring technical support
- Cutting asphalt/concrete or throwing water on asphalt while another cuts to prevent cloud of concrete (As was mandated by city laws.)
- Cutting pipes and putting pieces together with fittings when required.
- Cleaning up any debris/heavy machines after day finished (Sweeping, spraying down with hose, etc.)
- Performed inventory control.
- Working safely in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
- Consistently lifted materials weighing as much as 45+ pounds.
- Utilized construction tools and machinery to effectively complete job site projects.
- Organized materials, tools and equipment to supply team members.
- Observed site safety rules to maximize protections for team members and equipment.
- Read and understood orders to accurately measure, cut and lay out needed materials.
- Determined materials needed for daily shift and loaded vehicles with equipment and supplies.
- Completed paving roads, hauling materials and digging ditches.
- Used measuring tools such as gauges and tape measure to identify conforming parts during production.
- Used radios and hand signals to coordinate communication between equipment operators and ground workers.
- Collected measurements and marked locations as part of project preparations.

There were 4 roles in the warehouse. Team work was required, as was time flexibility (working nightshifts) due to how much production was required by the job. My day would typically consist of shifting through these roles, but my main responsibility was stacking. During my time with the company, we worked safely around machines and kept a clean workspace.
- Packager:
- Dump produce on sterilized table for other packagers.
- Liable to ensure quality of produce before inserting into bags.
- Filling bags with produce and setting them aside.
- Weighing
- Required to ensure that bags were weighed to a standard set by company, according to the produce-class being handled.
- Sealing:
- Responsible for heat-sealing bags of produce and setting them on conveyer belt to be stacked.
- Stacking:
- Liable for grabbing bags of produce from rotating table and putting them in a box of 12 bags.
- Cleaning up and taking bags back to the packagers if they weren't sealed correctly.
- Manually loading boxes on a pallet.
- Wrapping the pallet with shrink wrap to ensure the pallet stays in tact during transportation out of the warehouse.
- Using a pallet jack to take full pallets out of warehouse for the forklift driver.
The main responsibilities were weighing and stacking. The responsibilities would shift regularly between the 2-person team. We were also required to keep trucks clean at all times to avoid accidents.

- Liable for weighing boxes of produce to standard set by company.
- Ensuring boxes of produce were clean and of quality.
- Stacking:
- Required to stack boxes of produce on a pallet in the back of a box truck/open-bed truck.
- Setting up boxes and handing them to team to fill up with produce.
- Worked alongside team to accomplish work goals according to schedule.
