Industrial Engineering
Designing and Manufacturing of Spiral Helix antenna and Radar Dome:
Spiral helix antenna and radar dome are designed using Uni Graphics and Master Cam for solid works.Then the components are machined with the help of process plan using Computer Numerical Control and Conventional Lathe Machines.Glass cloth,epoxy resin, hardener, synthetic foam and aluminum plates were used in manufacture of the components. The cost of the component is drastically reduced as setting time, job flow time, waiting time, reduction of number of tools, cost of jigs and fixtures and rejection of the component are totally eliminated.
Redesigning of distribution center layout:
Analyzed the current layout,drew possible alternatives through space relationship diagrams and suggested the best alternative layout by performing cost analysis.
Performed ABC analysis on the data that we have obtained and by using the weight comparison of Quantity input and output we have designed the facility so that the products will be easy for Pickup.
Reduction of aisle space on the main level resulted in increase of pallets which is a increase of space utilization. Improved the facility layout such that the performance of the facility improves at least 25% for the first year and 35% the next year
Simple and Multiple linear regressions:
Linear and multiple regression analysis is done to find the correlation between response variable and four predictor variables using SAS software.
Just in Time manufacturing (JIT):
Reduced the manufacturing cost of screw in a small scale industry by implementing single piece flow, production smoothing, standardizing the setup, stopping the defect pieces from passing to the next station and 5S methodology
