I am currently presiding over non detained cases in the busy Los Angeles Immigration Court.  I have been an Immigration Judge over 9 years, 6 of those years handling the criminal and detained dockets for Lancaster, CA, Orange County and Adelanto Immigration Courts.

2015 To Present:  Adjudicated all aspects of non detained immigration cases including asylum/withholding of removal/CAT, cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, contested removal, credible fear and reasonable fear reviews.    Provide coverage for detained dockets for the Orange County/LA 3 detention courts conducting bond hearings, Franco hearings, Rodriquez bond redetermination hearings, and all other applications and removal issues facing the detention docket;
May 2014 to April 2015:  Adjudicated hearings via VTC for Adelanto, CA detention courts thereby adjudiucating all aspects of removal hearings and bond hearings;
May 2013 to May 2014:  Adjudicated hearings for the non detained docket with a particular focus on marriage fraud cases before the Court; conducted all other types of immigration hearings, including asylum, cancellation of removal and other applications;
August XXX8 to May 2013:  Conducted detention immigration hearings at the former Lancaster, California Immigration Court from August XXX8 to November 2012. Conducted hundreds of bond and removal hearings including credible and reasonable fear reviews; then from November 2012 to May 2013 conducted detention hearings including bond and removal hearings via VTC from the Adelanto detention facility.  Helped coordinate and provide advice to the Adelanto Immigration Court that formally opened in May 2013.

Walt Disney Co. Santa Monica, CA, Represented the United States Government in proceedings before the Immigration Court at San Pedro Detention Facility with a particular emphasis on violent criminals, fugitives from justice, persecutors, and cases involving national security.  Prepared daily schedules for DHS attorneys assigned to the San Pedro court and oversaw appeal briefs prepared by attorneys.  Also prepared motions and appeals to both the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals. Represented DHS at national security meetings at the FBI, customs and local and state offices.

Department Of Homeland Security Auburn, WA, Represented the United States Government in proceedings before the Immigration Courts, including matters on asylum, cancellation of removal, contested removal and criminal issues.  Prepared trial and appellate motions and briefs to both the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.  Also conducted other collateral duties including preparing detailed litigation reports to the US Attorney's Office on Writs of Habeas Corpus, criminal illegal re-entry cases and Writs of Mandamus.  Also prepared and provided agency positions on Federal and State subpoenas served upon agency personnel and the agency itself.
