The volunteer work that I absolutely loved was in Kenya. First time was in 2017 stayed for 4 months then another time in 2018 for 3 month. The team and I stayed and served in a orphanage called Full of Love. We spent most of our time there. We helped the children's with basic life necessities, school work and most importantly building relationship with the children by loving and spending time with them. We also worked with a street kid shelter called Embrace. These boys are going through rehabilitation from drugs and physical abuse. We served by teaching English class and also doing activities to get their minds off of their reality. Another thing we did was go to communities that lived in poverty. We helped them by providing food and medical work such as taking out jiggers from their feet and hands. We also went to the dessert where there is no modern civilization and did medical clinics. Providing medication by bringing a licensed doctor to examine them physically, their wounds, and give them prescribed medications that are not easily accessible because the nearest medical help is a 4 hour walk. Going to Kenya changed my whole perspective on life and I am very grateful to have experienced a different world.
