I was an Ice Hockey Referee, working mostly with kids in middle school or younger. As a referee, I had to manage my own time and balance work assignments with school work, my own hockey team's practices and games, and my social life. I learned how to kindly and effectively communicate with, sometimes very aggravated, parents and coaches, and I learned how to quickly deescalate very tense situations. I improved players' understanding of the game of hockey through explaining how and why they got penalties, or why certain things happened in the game.

- I had a euphonium student who I met with once a week from December of 2015 to April of 2016. In this job, I had to developed and teach lessons on the fundamentals of low brass playing. I helped my student prepare for his playing exams in school and he developed rapidly as a musician. With this, I had to effectively communicate materials to an elementary school child, and think of several different ways to explain the same concept. I was also responsible for handling my own schedule, and keeping track of and transporting course materials to and from lessons.
