I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, around some great teachers in the Orleans Parish School system. I was going to school to be a pharmacist. That plan failed me when hurricane Katrina hit. I came to San Antonio, and felt I needed a change. I chose the teaching profession because I enjoy showing children life skills. When a child finally "get it" makes me the happiest. While at Texas A&M-San Antonio, I was a part of S.A. Reads. it was an organization that brought college students to elementary schools to help at risk students to gain reading skills. After I graduated I got with Ms. Evans, founder of the Exceptionalities Academic Services. I am a home school teacher there. I go to the homes of children that may be struggling with a learning disability. I have learned so much from working there and I'm ready to move to the classroom setting.
