I began my work flow with the pap smears. First I accession them, making sure name, DOB, and all other information matches the vial. I then register each one giving it, its own hospital registration number. Then Order each one so it has its own PS number. Then process each one using the Thin Prep 2000. After the sample has been transfered to a slide , i run it though degrading ETOH and place them on the automatic stainer followed by the coversliper. I also handle all of the accessioning, ordering and processing of all the Non-gyn's and FNA's. Non's being urines, ascites, pleural fluids, bronch washes and brushes, sputum's , CSF, abscess fluid, gallbladder brushings, gum brushings, Emesis. I also process the FNA's from CT, Ultra sound, OR and from the clinics.
I manage and document the maintenance on all the machines and daily cleaning.
I was in charge of monitoring the computer lab I was assigned to for that shift. My duties here were to make sure no one stole anything, and to address software + hard ware issues
I was responsible for filing the x-ray files that were more than three days old. I would have to find patient charts and purge old films.Work in Affinity-our ERP to make sure all films were present and nothing was in the incorrect order
