7th grade representative on Waimanalo School's Leadership team for four years (2008-2012). Attended numerous leadership training workshops in Hawaii and in other states.
Developed a hands-on board to help track and analyze testing data. Created and led team discussions on what data shows and how other subjects can support tested subjects based on the analyzed data. Data boards were a major interest amongst other schools after they were presented at Leadership training meetings. Other schools adopted the data board system that I created and used with my team.
As the Advancement Via Individual Determination (A.V.I.D) Site Team Coordinator (2008-2012), I was responsible for training and recruiting tutors, facilitating A.V.I.D Site Team meetings, creating & submitting reports and data for our A.V.I.D program and recruiting students who met criteria for the college prep program.
As an A.V.I.D Elective teacher, I am responsible for teaching students who enter the A.V.I.D. program the skills needed to be successful in the program. Students learn how to use questioning to help each other in tutorials, how to set up and maintain an organized binder, how to create higher level questions and how to have discussions based on higher level questioning and inquiry. (2008-Current)
Co-coordinator of after school United Peer Learning Integrating New Knowledge (U.P.L.I.N.K) program. As co-coordinator of this program, I am responsible for many of the ideas and systems that our program uses. Program is praised by state program manager about how it is managed. As a coordinator, I have completed numerous M.O.A., budget narratives, budgets and data reports for the program. (2010-Current)
Created a program at Waimanalo to promote and encourage students to be Pono and do things just because it's the right thing to do. Hopes was to alleviate peer-pressure that students have to do things that are wrong. Waimanalo Intermediate's "Pono Posse" project has become a middle school system where teachers nominated students who do the right thing. Students are aware of the program, talk about it and are honored to be recognized for things that they do just because it's right. (2011-current).
