My previous employment at AmeriPath Labs was working nights in a high volume referral lab.
We processed approximately 800 blocks per night. My job responsibilities
included loading and accounting for several hundred blocks a night, embedding and cutting.

Very experienced with prostate needle core biopsies. We processed an average of 10 prostate cases per night. We were required to cut 3 levels, picking up 2 unstained sections at each level.

Over my 27 years of employment with National Jewish Health my job description changed many times. I had many years of animal research experience and developing IHC protocols. The last 10 years were focused more on clinical work. We did many Gastric and lung biopsies. I was responsible for grossing, billing and typing all patient biopsies. I was also an essential part in preparing for and passing our CAP inspections yearly.
I am also an active member of NSH and attend seminar/symposiums for Continuing Education pertaining to my field. This allows me to keep up with fellow colleagues and new techniques in my field.
