Fundamental Counseling Principles and Associates – Chesapeake,

Planned and led group activities for group members ordered into Virginia Alcohol Safety Awareness Program(VASAP) on a weekly basis. Interviewed and prepared assessment reports on individuals referred to Fundamental Counseling Principles and Associates by VASAP and those who were court ordered to complete VASAP. This was a part time position, usually working about four to five hours per week.

I supervise 100+ male and female offenders who are on supervised probation and/or parole for felony offenses they have committed. I counsel them during their meetings with any number of counseling methods such as Motivaitonal Interviewing, Evidenced Based Practices, MET, EPICS II etc. I prepare reports for the court such as probation violation letters, early release letters, screens for a variety of community based programs. In addition, I am currently supervising one probation officer and overseeing the work of six other probation officers. I currently am facilitating a men's Peer Support Group as well as a women's Peer Support Group and co-facilitating a Thinking For a Change Group.
I also oversee the substance abuse funds and prepare financial reports quarterly.
