I am the parks lead worker at Mullins park. Mullins park is the heart of the city. It is a 70 acre park that consist of 1 artificial turf football field, 4 baseball fields, 7 basketball courts, 2 tennis courts, a volleyball court, a playground, a pool, 7 soccer fields that depending on the season can be turned into football fields, and baseball or t-ball fields, 2 meeting rooms for special events, 5 concession stands, a mini museum, Satory Hall Senior Center, the voluntary service building and our maintenance yard that holds all equipment for all divisions within the parks and recreation department.

Mullins park is the home of many sports leagues that use the park year round. We host many soccer and baseball tournaments for teams from all around the state. We host the city's 4th of July firework show as well as other large events

As lead worker I oversee all daily park operations, playground inspections and repairs, enforcement of park rules and checking permits for teams and altering there schedules. I am responsible for all safety inspections. I facilitate the coordination of special events. As part of my administrative duties, I handle weekly reports, customer surveys, inventory checklists, daily truck inspection forms, vandalism reports and other police and fire department reports. I also help oversee a 5 man full time crew, 2 part timers, community service workers and summer laborers.

As a lead worker of Mullins Park, I am continuously working with other departments such as Public Works, Streets, Utilities, Fleet, Purchasing, Police, Fire, Humane Officers, Traffic Investigators and Parking Enforcement Officers to ensure our guests of Mullins Park have a great experience.
