Accomplishments
  • Incorporated four Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and created one Civil Society Organization (CSO) within the Arima Borough;
  • Established and launched three Senior Activity Centres (SAC);
  • For the NGOs, I have written a Constitution and three proposals for funding to the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services’ Division of the Ageing
  • The purpose of this funding is to address, particularly, the social needs of the ageing population, through SAC Activities
  • The CSO was created to partner with other NGOs to address the material needs of the most economically disadvantaged within the Borough of Arima, particularly those in D’Abadie/O’Meara;
  • Operationalized a culture of voluntarism within the Constituency to assist the vulnerable citizens therein;
  • As a pioneer effort, partnered with the Unemployment Relief Programme to create a space for work for single mothers at a clothing outreach project, co-created with a community volunteer;
  • Within the NGOs, I have created employment for at least forty people – thirty-six of whom are retirees systematically expunged from the country’s workforce and are willing and able to continue to contribute to development;
  • In partnership with the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), I have spear-headed the operationalization of an academic Human Capital Development Initiative Project incorporating three constituencies
  • For this initiative, the Institute of International Relations (IIR) at The University of the West Indies (UWI) partnered with me to train thirty persons in specialized diplomacy and protocol;
  • Over a period of one year, in collaboration with the Trinidad and Tobago Group of Professionals Association (TTGPA), The UWI and its Alumni Association and the North Central Regional Health Authority I successfully planned and orchestrated the conduct of a Professional Services Day Community Project
