Hire date: January 18, 2002 - As the receiving manager I was responsible for all direct store deliveries. I reviewed invoices to make sure they were accurate to what we were receiving. I monitored and adjusted inventory, processed PO numbers, credit invoices, and invoices, took retail corrections as needed, I worked with vendors and customers in person and on the phone. I scheduled deliveries. I maintained a clean and safe back room. I also worked in the invoice office where I payed expenses, ordered supplies, and trouble shot discrepancies in paperwork. I matched up invoices to corresponding paper work and filed them accordingly. I requested service work and repairs for equipment and maintenance. I also worked in the claims department. I have a good understanding of hazardous waste management and compliance with environmental regulations. I have been a department manager where I was responsible for on hands being correct, price changes, working freight, training my sales associates and helping them advance their career, and providing exceptional customer service. I had a great number of responsibilities such as, being directly responsible for the successes and failures in my area, developing my team to help them grow and promote, setting up interviews and hiring new talent, ordering fixtures and supplies, reviewing financial reports, and working with my peers to support them in their areas of the store. I was promoted to GM Coach in October of 2020. This has been my biggest role to date. I am now responsible for the entire general merchandise side of a 100 million dollar store. I have all of the same responsibilities as when I was an assistant manager just on a much larger scale. My focus is greatly on people. With this role my main priority is to develop and support my associates while at the same time running a successful business that has year to year growth. Having a real love of helping people and a positive attitude are critical to the success of this role. Customer service is very important to me as well, having compassion and empathy are the cornerstones of helping people whether they are a customer or an associate. I truly enjoy giving back to the community and getting to really know the people in the area. This role has allowed me the opportunity to help people and make a positive impact on the world around me. I hope to continue down a path to make a difference.
