I have been a leader in the workplace for sometime. My early time with SweetFrog was spent at the "training store" where all new franchisees were brought in order to learn the business. My role in this was teaching front of the house work, such as ways to communicate and make conversation, how to work the register, how to set up toppings bar and efficiently refill and work in the tight space behind the counter, along with others. This duty also meant I taught franchisees how a to make the products, whether yogurt or toppings. Along with this, I was the lead mascot for the company. I worked hand-in-hand with the marketing department and its officials in creating the brand from the early days until now.
After three years with DECA, I was appointed as an officer.
After one year, I was promoted to trainer at SweetFrog, then after another year passed, I was then promoted to Supervisor.
As a member of Garnet & Gray, I have taken on the role of not just touring but opening up my room to potential students so they can learn about life here on campus.
I chose this job because I love this school and saw it as an opportunity to meet our future Hampden-Sydney men. I also enjoy communicating with people so I felt this would be a great experience to perfect my skill.
I currently work as a Supervisor for SweetFrog both back home in Chesterfield, and here in Farmville. I also led these stores in customer donations and gift card sales when we had special events going on. As a supervisor I am tasked with cash deposits, purchasing of supplies, cleaning yogurt machines, running reports, preforming tasks that normally would also be done by cashiers, training new employees, keeping other members of the shift on task, keeping morale positive, and handling issues that come up in the store. These issues could be anything from a upset customer to a machine breaking down.
Leader in store gift card sales and customer donations to local charities.
I was responsible with making and refilling yogurt, cleaning, putting away the delivery trucks, keeping the story organized, interacting with customers, and preforming cash transactions. As a trainer I was tasked with teaching new hires and franchisees how to run preform the duties. I left the store due to beginning college at Hampden-Sydney and was promoted to another store nearby. As mascot I was not held down to one store but traveled around the Richmond area preforming events for the company. I participated in 5Ks, University of Richmond football games, Virginia Commonwealth University basketball games, Flying Squirrel baseball games, and more.
As an officer of the DECA club, I was tasked with speaking to potential members, representing my school in competitions and meetings with other schools. I created presentations regarding future events and advertising what the club was meant to do.
