I live on a farm just south of Oxford, Ohio and have lived their all of my life. I was a member of the 4H club where I raised pigs to show at the Butler County Fair. I continue to grow a vegetable garden every year. In 2018 I graduated from Talawanda High School with high honors. In school I focused my involvement in FFA (Future Farmers of America). During this time I filled a leadership role being the Student Advisor on the officer's team. I competed in various CDE (career development experiences) including Forestry, Parliamentary Procedure and Nursery Landscaping. I was actually one of the founders of the Forestry Team in the Talawanda FFA Chapter my freshman year thanks to my personal interest in identifying trees native to Ohio as well as being a large contributor in building the Landscaping team from the ground up. In 2018 we went on to place 2nd in the Eastern Region of the country. Today, I am an Applied Biology student at Miami University. I am very interested in filling an internship with the City of Hamilton. I'm certain with my background and proper training I can bring much value to the process with good work ethic and time in the field of biology. I have worked on farms all of my life and understand the value in hard work. In my short experience I have learned the value of working efficiently with a positive team concept attitude. I have worked for the City of Oxford for almost a year now in the Streets and Maintenance Division. At the City I have learned how to work safely with others and how to communicate easily. My time management skills are improving every day with my full time schedule at Miami. My efforts have earned a position on Miami's President's List for the fall semester of 2019. I believe that I'm a competitive candidate for the internship for the City of Hamilton.
