  • This job was a very good learning experience from the start.
  • I was required to work around high voltage electricity up to 500,000 volts on a daily basis.
  • Daily duties included working above ground in bucket trucks or lifts at heights reaching 120 feet.
  • Always started the day out with a safety briefing to make all workers aware of all dangers involved in daily task , and to insure all workers were aware of the work to be done that day.
  • Reading of blue prints was very important , also worked in confined spaces in the control house for the stations which required being aware of surrounding at all times.
  • Not only did work require you watching out for own safety but had to watch others and what they were doing at all times.
  • Forklift, crane , backhoe , bobcat, mini excavator are some of the equipment also operated on daily basis.
  • Concrete work was something we done from time to time which required digging holes , building forms, and pouring concrete , then finishing it.

  • I learned all of the requirements of the department to become supervisor.
  • My job duties were to maintain dies, and perform all set ups and installations of dies.
  • All processes were to be documented to insure proper set up for a trained employee to operate.
  • All parts and consumable tooling were to be inventoried and ordered by me.
  • I was responsible for 75 dies to be ready for process.
  • I was also responsible for all daily fabrication schedules, quality and production.
  • While at Universal I was also a weld foreman.
  • Daily job requirements consisted of using spreadsheet to document daily productions, absences, and corrective actions on all employees in the department.
  • I ordered all welding supplies.
  • I kept inventory on all instock Items to insure materials would be there to replace insufficient stock.
  • Visually inspected parts to make sure no quality issues were present.
  • Safety trainer.
  • I was required to properly train all new employees on all machines to be ran by employee in designated department that they would be placed.
  • All training was individually done and documented to insure any questions were properly addressed and accidents were reduced to a minimum.

I enjoy golfing on a regular basis. I find it very relaxing and frustrating at the same time. Its always a challenge due to the different courses. It always makes for a fun experience.
