Started as a roustabout on a new build in Singapore. Worked up to floorman and began training with subsea.
As a roustabout my responsibilities were working with the cranes to assist in loading and unloading of work and crew boats. Working with rig floor to assist in bringing tools and equipment needed for the next step of the operation. I was also responsible for cleaning and painting on the rig. As a result of hard work and dedication I was promoted to the rig floor as a floorman where my responsibilities were assisting the driller as well as my coworkers with drilling operations. I quickly learned down hole operations, preventive maintenance of drilling equipment and began training for a subsea position. I was then transfered to the Alaska division where I assisted in the updating of the Kulluk rig for the Shell Alaska project. While in the construction stage, my responsibilities where to assist in the reconstruction of the rig floor. I assisted my crew in installing drill string compensator, top drive, riser tensioners, diverter housing, flow line valves, trip tank, Completion of 10K B.O.P. stack as well as construction of a brand new 15K B.O.P. stack. As a result, our rig was able to obtain a permit to drill top holes in the Beauford Sea north of Alaska.
