  • Orchard Supply Hardware Store Re-Model Project 2014— September, 2014 to March 1, 2015

Store was OPEN the whole time during this Major Store Re-model Project.

It was noisy, dusty, dirty and very stressful. Lots of Construction crews, Corporate folks and lots of Confused Customers.

It was very CHAOTIC! Lead my Team to stay Calmed and Collected with a Ton of Patience. Construction crews, Corporate folks and most of all our Customers (internal and external) were all helped and served admirably.

  • March 1, 2015- was the most Successful Store Re-Model completion and the most Successful  Grand Opening that ever happened in Orchard Supply Hardware history.

My SUCCESSES: With My Team---  

  • Drove Legendary Customer Service level throughout the store; consistently ensured customer service meets company expectations.
  • In 2015 First Quarter: As per Mystery shops, Customer Service Evaluation Reports for February, March and April. My store achieved a score of 90% in February, despite of Hardship due to Major Store Re-Model. In March score was 97% and April score was 95%. 
  • Addressed customer's (internal and external) inquiries and resolved complaints. 
  • Interviewed over hundreds of people and successfully staffed several new store locations.
  • Built and sustained high morale; demonstrated OSH People Philosophy.
  • Executed policies and procedures according to company direction and followed all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.
  • Determined staff promotions and demotions, and terminated employees when necessary.

  • Built sales and improved gross margin. Beat the Sales Plans by 1 to 2% every year. And came in with a positive EBIDA (Earnings Before Interest, Depreciation and Amortization) every year, despite of the economy being down since 2008.
  • Total Sales were down, as expected by 15 to 20% due to Major Store Re-Model in 2014. Although, compare to other OSH that went thru the same Major Store Re-Model, we were much better. Other Stores were down by 30 to 50% in Total Sales for 2014.
  • Arose on the rate Plan of 43.5% in Gross Margin better than Last Year 43% and the District average of 42.7% and the company average of 41% in 2014. 
  • Achieved $1.1 million dollars in EBIDA or to the Bottom Line despite of the Store Re-Model in 2014!
  • Developed, adhered and securely aligned to store budget and did everything possible to meet or exceed the plan (i.e. Payroll, Markdowns and Store Expenses).
  • Average in Shrink from 2008 to 2013, was 1.20%. Consistently beat expectations every year in 6 Years. Shrink Goal was below 2%.
  • Guaranteed training, communicating, observing and evaluating entire store's execution of shrink control measure.
  • Sustained a safe, clean, neat, and well-stocked place to shop. Merchandise always in stock with the correct presentation and register ready.
  • Worked closely with the district manager to formulate and build the store brand.
  • Evaluated, wrote and delivered the performance of all salaried managers consistently in a timely manner.
  • Ensured that all associates, including Assistant Managers and Key Carriers/Supervisors were trained timely and accordingly.
