Dear Director, My name is Peter Bachowski and I am very much interested in the analyst position that you have available. I have come back to the United States from Indonesia teaching English to find work as an analyst/chemist. Ever since I was in college and took my first chemistry classes, I have always found a passion for working with and analyzing chemicals. I graduated from the University of Washington with a BS in chemistry in 2014 and spent four years working as an analyst in an environmental laboratory. I strongly desire to continue my career in the field of chemistry. I am committed to any analyst position as well as any job in the field of chemistry. I am patient, logical, hardworking, have good communication and social skills, and take a lot of pride in my work. Due to the COVID-19 situation, I was forced to return to the US and my goal has become to continue my career as an analyst. For four years I analyzed and reported environmental chemical data that can be used by larger companies to make decision about their building projects. I started as a gasoline analyst using GC instrumentation for two years, learning several other analyses in the process. Eventually I was promoted to the 8270 GC/MS analyst which also ran tests for PCBs and pesticides. I really enjoyed working in that environment and was quite content there. When the laboratory had periods of slowness, I would try and learn new analyses or procedures that would be beneficial to me as well as the Working in an environmental lab has also taught me how to safely and efficiently work with chemicals and GC/MS instrumentation. The ALS laboratory in which I worked earned the highest profits and gave the highest quality data of all ALS labs in the USA. I was very proud to have worked there. My education from the University of Washington and work experience from ALS Environmental Labs gives me the highest level of skill as an analyst to work for your company. I am also very eager to learn more skills as an analyst and chemist in this new position. Provided in my application is my resume. Though this resume and cover letter is not enough to show the full extent of my character, I hope it can show what I may be able to achieve. I want to thank you very much for taking the time to consider me for this position. I will look forward to hearing from you. The best way to reach me would be by email at any time. I will be sure to respond as fast as I can.
