As an equipment specialist I have experience in developing publications and technical manuals.
such as SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), LOI's (Letter of Instruction) ECP's (Engineering Change Proposal) and operators manuals specific to each piece of equipment and the service, repair, overhaul and operation of each.
I am also a project manager.
I research methods, techniques, materials and requirements needed to ensure safe operations for the development of new equipment and the modification of existing equipment in support of the Ammunition Peculiar Equipment (APE) at Tooele Army Depot as well as the APE equipment in Korea.
I currently troubleshoot, analyze, repair and perform general maintenance on the DEFAC in Korea as well as train Korean Nationals in the safe and efficient use of APE equipment.
I conduct performance testing of new or reconditioned APE equipment using live ammunition (explosives) to determine the capability of each machine to perform its intended function, conformance to drawings, specifications, safety requirements and limitations.
All testing is done in accordance with safety, engineering, survelliance, production controllers, and other operating organizations and the ISO process (International Organization for Standardization) and procedures.
any equipment returned to the NICP (National Inventory Control Point) for Ammunition Peculiar equipment must be inspected and a condition code applied.
as an Equipment specialist I have performed work on the Cryo Fracture, setting equipment to the proper specs to achieve desired effect.
I developed feed rate testing in the 1236 furnace.
I performed work on the DEFAC in Korea making repairs on the debander, air hoist, motor and pink water system.I also perform maintenance on the ape 2048 Flashing Furnace to include: cleaning burners, bag house inspection and inspection on the afterburner.
I led and assisted training Korean National on the Auto Claves.
I learned the SCOW and MSO operations and am able to troubleshoot and diagnose both systems.
I performed work on the install of the decineration as well as the testing of the system.
I wrote the test plan and the LOI as well as performed the test on APE 1213 using the data acquisition system.
I also wrote the test report.
I assisted in writing the SOP and LOI for the Bomb Saw project.
I rebuilt the 1213 debander.
I research all materials, parts, time and location costs to complete all bids to rebuild, APR 1178, 1177, 1176 and APE 1213.
I have had extensive training in explosive safety.
I understand and abide with OSHA laws and regulations as well as Army regulation and common safety practices.

EXPLOSIVE OPERATOR HELPER WGTOOELE ARMY DEPOT – TOOELE, UTAH
I started at Tooele Army Depot in the student/summer hire program working for the Maintenance and Demil area where I was later hired as a permanent employee working with a wide variety of conventional ammunition ranging from small arms up through 280 millimeter, mines, grenades and rockets.
I have worked on the maintenance line rebuilding 105 Howitzers, involving the inspection of each round for abnormalities, discarding old propellant and replacing it with new.
I have been trained in hazardous waste management and always dispose of hazardous waste using prescribed methods and procedures.
I also performed other duties on the production line such as disassembly of components, fuses and base plugs.
I have unpacked complete rounds and components for renovation, demilitarization, and other maintenance operations.
I have been trained on how to visually check material for proper identification and any obvious unsafe conditions before munitions and other related materials ( components, packing, containers) are placed on the line for rework.
I was taught to inspect for signs of deterioration, defects, contamination, discrepancies, improper markings, malfunction and leakage.
I have re warehoused ammunition from various igloos by truck and forklift providing necessary changes to storage location data cards, plano-graphs, etc.
also being responsible for location keys used during re warehousing.
I segregated ammunition according to condition code, lot numbers ,compatibility of contents and compliance with directives and regulations.
I have operated diesel powered truck tractors with semi trailers, strat-o-lift trailers or box van.
I have been involved in the demolition of high explosives and explosive components, the burning of powder, and the destruction of ammunition at the demolition and burning ranges.
In all of the different areas I have worked I have learned the proper tools to use for specific jobs such as common hand tools, band cutters, stretchers, crimper's, grinders, grinding wheels, etc.
I was also detailed to the Pilot Model Shop in AED where I was taught the procedures for the preparation of various metals for finishing to include aluminum, steel and stainless steel.
I also performed preparatory work to include but not limited to, sandblasting, machine sanding, grinding, solvent cleaning and pressure washing of components and machines.
I ensure that the finish coats on specific equipment meet thickness and appearance requirements and may be applied by rolling, spraying or brushing.
I am capable of doing my job with little or no supervision.
