As an Employment Program Representative in Workforce Services at EDD, I assist job seekers and employers by directing them to services and providing information on Unemployment Insurance and Disability Insurance. I give approved presentations in a formal setting over Zoom and other internet services on EDD program information to EDD partners and job seekers and employers in groups ranging from 20 to over 100 participants. I initiate phone calls to job seekers to encourage them to take part in EDD's programs and services. I assist clients by reviewing and routing complaints to the appropriate entity in accordance with the Workforce Services Complaint System Manual. I review job listings for clarity, completeness and adherence to Workforce Services standards for data entry into the CalJOBs operating system. I work as an outstation trainer to develop approved curriculum and prepare materials for appropriate training to EDD staff throughout the state. I direct customers at the America's Job Centers of California and partner locations that have internet access to other service areas, which may include Unemployment Insurance, Disability Insurance, and other EDD services and workforce preparation resources.
As the senior member of a small landscaping business, I work and lead a team to successfully obtain and finish a maintenance or construction job. As a car salesperson, I was the public face of the dealership. I greeted customers and worked through the entire process of selling a car with them. I helped them pick out a car and test drive it. I helped customers lease and renew lease vehicles. called customers and made appointments over the phone and online. I used an online appointment log system to keep track of pertinent customer information. I gathered insurance information, payment information, and personal information and make sure the car I was selling was ready for the next step in the sales process. At the same time, it was my job to make sure the customer was happy and would complete the car buying experience. Communication skills were key in determining how I could help the customer meet their needs. I would oftentimes have customers that had poor credit or little to no down payment, but had a need for a vehicle because they were an Uber or Lyft driver. I would go out of my way to research online and make sure that I got them the best financing as well as the most reliable vehicle I could find for them because their livelihood depended on being able to have a good vehicle to safely transport clients. My job required that I adhere to regulations of the Department of Motor Vehicles such as temporary registration and license plate requirements. My job required that I provided excellent customer service and was proficient with computers, software, and data input.
