I come from a family of lifetime railroaders. I grew up listening to the nightly dinner conversations about the operations of the railroad. Vacations were often spent being taken along on rail fanning trips. My parents both retired after long career as dispatchers. When a job opportunity came up at Pan Am it seemed fitting. I applied for a payroll clerk position in 2010. My job duties were data entry. I collected and entered timesheets. In 2011 I was awarded the job of chief payroll clerk. I expanded my duties to include maintaining the employee database as well as data entry. 2012 saw me promoted to Manager of Payroll. I expanded my knowledge even further with being responsible for all aspects of union payroll. I learned about tax laws and reporting. I learned how to manage a department and employees working under me. In 2019 I was again entrusted with more responsibilities when I was asked to take on all company payrolls and made the Director of Payroll. I have again expanded my knowledge of unions, contracts and data entry to now include processing and maintaining payroll for management. I have had a long and satisfying career at Pan Am Railways. I have grown and learned and love my job and the people I work with. I hope to have a long and distinguished career at the railroad and have the pride to say I was a life-timer.
