I started working in High school at Food Lion and after I graduated, I went to work full time at Link Taylor (Lexington Furniture Industries). Here I started out in a rip saw and then moving to operator and on to the glue department where I used a variety more machines. I then became a forklift driver and finally worked my way to a “non Paid” group leader where I assisted the supervisor in daily operations and leadership of several departments and employees. I left this position to pursue my career in Law Enforcement in 1999. I took Basic Law Enforcement Training in 2000, and during job seeking, I went to work at Stanley Furniture. At Stanley, I started out in a veneer glue machine. After months of working, and using my prior abilities and experience, I was moved to glue machines where I eventually worked my way up to Group Leader where I assisted the Supervisor in the daily operations of the departments to include supervising departments and scheduling work loads, material, etc. It was in 2006 that I applied for a position in Law Enforcement and went to work with the Davidson County Sheriffs Office. I have been employed here for 15 years and have held ranks within the department and have worked in several divisions within the department. I am now assigned as a school resource officer. I am invoked in the Epilepsy of Davidson County where I serve as the Vice President. I have been a volunteer Firefighter for 16 years and have served on the Board of Directors and hold the rank of Safety Officer. I held a first responder certification for several years.
