Dental Hygienist, 06/1994 to 07/1995 David Warren – Lafayette, LA Working for Dr. Warren was educational and I enjoyed his personality and the sweet patients. I had a hygiene assistant and saw up to 14 patients a day, somedays. It was fast pace and I was grateful that I only did it three days a week. I felt if I had done that pace I would burn out, but I did enjoy it while I did it. I got engaged and moved to Mandeville, But still see Dr. Warren at Dental Meetings in Baton Rouge, and it is like we never quit working together!
Dental Hygienist, 06/1995 to 03/1998 Rusty Wilson – Hammond, LA Dr. Wilson was an exceptional Dentist, and very intelligent. He read up on and studied new procedures all the time. He included me and my thoughts on products, techniques and procedures old and new ones. We worked very well together and I truly enjoyed being apart of his team! Dr. Wilson saw Handicapped patients one day a week. His wife was in administration with a few of the group homes in Hammond and Livingston Parish, and they both were very involved at different levels for those who needed care. I particularly got attached to several of the handicapped clients and two that were diagnosed as Profound. It was at Dr. Wilson\'s office that I became aware of how well I worked with these patients and developed a love for it! It was a blessing and a privilege to be a part of the care provided on those special days. I was at the end of the trimester of my pregnancy and had to bow out a couple of months before my baby was born due to swelling of my feet and legs. Bachelor of Science: University of Miami and Southeastern Louisiana University - Miami, FL and Hammond Louisiana I started college at University of Miami, in Miami, Florida for a Bachelor of Science Degree for pre dentistry. I moved back to Louisiana and attended Southeastern University in Hammond, Louisiana, where I grew up. I was going to attend LSU Dental School because my father taught there in the operative department. I changed my mind about Dentistry and applied to the Dental Hygiene Program . I received a Bachelors in Hygiene from LSU Dental School in New Orleans in 1994. In 1998 I completed the first course in the state of Louisiana given for Dental Hygienist to administer Anesthesia. That course was not taught at LSU Dental School when I received my Hygiene degree, because it had not yet become law in the state of Louisiana for Hygienist to administer anesthesia.
Working with a Dental Company (Gabriel Medical and Dental Company, in Lafayette, Louisiana) right out of LSU Dental School, I developed skills in Patient Clinical Trails and Patenting, development, and manufacturing of a dental product. I worked at many ADA Dental meetings, talking with Dental Companies, Dentist and Dental Hygienist about Bleaching and the products the company I worked with had to offer. I also, worked for Procter and Gamble in there booth at a couple of New Orleans Dental Conventions. Having a father that taught at the Dental School, has afforded me contacts with many dentist. Hence, I have subbed for many Dentist who are friends and accaintances in the dental world. David Warren 1994-1995 Lafayette, Louisiana318-Rusty Wilson 1995-1998 Hammond, Louisiana985C.
