Work History
Criminal Justice Professor, 05/2015 to 07/2015
Humphreys College – Stockton, CA
When Heald College closed with no warning, one week into a new quarter, I worked to find a place for my students to complete the quarter and continue their education.  Dr. Humphrey graciously welcomed my students and me to his school.  He waived all fees for the students and allowed me to continue the courses as I has them set up at Heald. It was a seamless transition for my students who continue to thrive and progress past their Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree and head on to their Master's Degree. At the end of the quarter I choose to take a break from working in order to complete my Master's Degree with AMU.  While Humphreys has offered me a classroom teaching position, I feel on-line teaching is best for me now.

Criminal Justice Instructor, 04/2010 to 04/2015
Heald College – Stockton, CA
Lead Criminal Justice Instructor and Internship Advisor. Enjoyed teaching: Intro to CJ, Intro to Corrections, Criminology, Crime Scene Investigations, Victimology, Organized Crime Gangs and Terrorism, Report Writing, Police Procedures, Police Operations, Juvenile Justice, Capstone and Internship. Fostered students' commitment and interest in learning by connecting course materials to current events and real life situations. Engaged and encouraged my students to apply their required reading to current law enforcement situations. Assisted the program director in administrative projects and would fill in as program director as needed.  Faculty Advisor for our legal fraternity as well as the faculty member of the legal advisory board. Created, evaluated and revised course content and course materials to keep them interesting and current.  Guided students in using technology and online resources to support educational research. Mentor teacher for other teachers who were struggling in the classroom.
Deputy Animal Control Officer II, 09/2005 to 12/2009

Interpreted, explained and enforced state and local laws relating tot he care and treatment of animals.  Issued Warning notices, citations or arrested individuals for violations of the laws. Proper report writing was required. Was assigned other officers in order to assist them with their report writing skills. Provided professional and successful court presence and testimony. Created and implemented proper evidence collection and chain of custody protocols. Interpreted and applied laws, evaluated and established priorities and maintained composure in high stress emergencies.  operated rifle, shotgun, tranquilizer gun, Taser, ASP, and pepper spray in combination with weaponless defense techniques to maintain personal and public safety. Successfully developed and implemented a comprehensive Field Training Officer Program. Worked closely with the District Attorney to insure complete understanding of the laws and to insure Animal Control officers were providing excellent cases tot he DA in order to assist in productive prosecutions.
Volunteer, 06/1988 to 06/1998
Alpine County Sheriff's Department – Markleeville, CA
For ten years, I worked with the Alpine County Sheriff's Department on a volunteer basis. Through my time with Alpine County, I was involved extensively with K9 narcotic training, patrol and qualification. I maintained a concealed weapons permit during my years of volunteering. Gained experience in body recovery, autopsy viewing and recording, evidence collection and processing, proper chain of evidence, chain of command, investigative techniques, undercover narcotics work and report writing. I have experience in advanced firearms training, search and rescue (helicopter, snowmobile, horse, hiking and command center protocol), narcotics, K( narcotics, and narcotics handling and processing. Was allowed to work undercover in operations targeting perpetrators of narcotics crimes. I am grateful for the opportunities and learning experience I had while volunteering with Alpine County.
