Grant funded positions that required writing and administering data to reinstate funding for the programs. Responsible for developing programs to assist youth and adult offenders in the community. The Volunteer In Probation Coordinator, paired community mentors with at risk youth. Providing guidance and leadership in an effort to deter continued negative behaviors and to produce a healthy mentorship with the mentor and juvenile offender. Hosted multiple community events to engage involvement and to assist with challenges that one may have encountered. Worked with over 100 at risk youth and mentors.
The Work incentive Preparedness Coordinator position allowed me to work with adult offenders and to prepare them for the work force. Assisting with employment skills, resume writing, interview skills and job placement. I created a program that was grant approved and funded for program implementation to train individuals on how to use a cash register so that they could seek cashier positions. I trained individuals to teach the classes and completion resulted in a certificate and skills that could be used from fast food to retail services for the offender. This program yielded a 95% success rate for gainful employment.
