During the summer of 2019, I participated in a two week robotics camp at Cornell University in New York. During my time there, we learned how to code and build a small robot. We learned how to code the lights on it, as well as distance and color recognition. At the end of the camp, we had to make our robot follow a small black line on the floor/complete a maze using the sensors.
The winter of my sophomore year, I got my referee license in South Carolina so that I could referee in the spring of 2018. However, soon after I got my license, I moved to Michigan. I quickly applied for a youth soccer referee position at the Mary Free Bed YMCA. I was accepted and started in the spring of 2018. The typical season ran 9 weeks, and I refereed for most of those.
Some of my skills learned as well as put in place:
As soon as quarantine started, many families found themselves having to work from home without any dacare available. I took this as an opportunity to use my skills as a babysitter and help others. I began babysitting for Ben and Sarah during quarantine and continued until the kids were allowed back in day care.
Amanda and Blake I babysit for on occasion. As they just had a baby, I have to babysit their son sometimes when they have to go to doctors appointments or out.
