Monitor power plant equipment indicators to detect evidence of operating problems
Regulate equipment operations conditions, like water levels, based on instrument data or from computers
Take regulatory action, based on readings from charts, meters gauges, or at established intervals
Start or stop generators, auxiliary pumping equipment, turbines, or other power plant equipment as necessary
Inspect records or log book entries or communicate with plant personnel to assess equipment operating status
Control or maintain auxiliary equipment, like pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, feedwater heaters, or filters, to supply water, fuel, lubricants, air, or limestone slurry, lubricate, or maintain equipment, like generators, turbines, pumps, or compressors, to prevent failure or deterioration
Record and compile operational data by completing maintaining forms, logs, or reports
Open and close valves switches in sequence to start or shut down auxiliary systems, water, or samples for laboratory analysis
Make adjustments or minor repairs, like tightening leaking gland pipe joints, or packing
Monitor the temperature, output, and lubrication of the system
Examine and test electrical power distribution machinery equipment, using testing devices
Replenish electrolytes in batteries oil in voltage transformers, and reset tripped electric relays
Rack in and out 4160, 480, 220 and 110 breakers
Operate the the wet fgd system as well as a waste water faculty
Preventive maintenance equipment oil changes, grease equipment, lock out tag out, switch pumps and systems, and inspect.
Involved heavily in the start up and commissioning of the flue-gas desulfurization system.
Test pumps, breakers, dcs operating systems
Work closely with contractors and other plant operators
