High-energy Water Polo coach who aims to inspire athletes to do their best. Offers a comprehensive background of Water Polo knowledge, fitness, injury prevention and motivational techniques.
As the GHWPC Girls 16U and 18U coach I organized and ran practices, prepared athletes for upcoming games and tournaments, made myself available for questions and further explanation, communicated with parents and fellow coaches, and above all ensured a positive Water Polo experience for everyone involved.
As the 'unofficial' assistant coach for the Peninsula Boys 2010 season I was in charge of catching up the new additions. I taught foundation skills to the newcomers, including game rules, swimming, treading water and general fitness. I attended games, kept statistics and when necessary stepped up and assumed a head coaching position.
As an official I was responsible for officiating games throughout Pierce county. It was necessary to have a thorough understanding of Water Polo rules and play, as well as keep a sound demeanor when faced with passionate coaches and spectators.
As a Captain of the Western Washington University Girls Water Polo team I had to take a leading roll. As the youngest player I had to demonstrate leadership, competency, skill and communication to prove I deserved a place at the top. I broke the goals scored record and am proud to say that my record still stands.
With Puget Sound Polo I participated in three Junior Olympic tournaments. These experiences helped broaden my polo horizons and brought my game to the next level.
I played Varsity Water Polo for four years, two of which as Captain. My senior year I led my team to a 3rd place victory at our State tournament and was presented with the honor of being a First Team All State athlete.
