Mercer Service Board: Fall of 2020-Current
- Member from Fall 2020 until Current
- Year of 2020-2021 Special Service Committee Chair: This position was heavily involved in providing service opportunities for students during events such as 9/11 Service weekend, Black History Month, Labor Day, etc in order to allow students to have the opportunity to be involved in special community events in Macon GA such as Bike Walk Macon, Service Saturdays with various community developers, etc.
- Currently entering the 2021-2022 year: Hunger and Homelessness Committee Chair & Be a Good Neighbear Chair: Be a Good Neighbear is a weekend at Mercer University where a large portion of the staff and students are sent to many community partners throughout Macon and volunteer all morning and afternoon in order to contribute our time back into the Macon Community. Hunger and Homelessness Chair's primary purpose is to set up monthly events working with local food banks and shelters in order to rectify and volunteer time to better Macon community's growing homelessness problems.
BOMM Research Student:
- Fall of 2020 a Biology II and Organic Chemistry I combined course incorporating skills from both along with mathematical modeling in order to synthesize and design drugs during the chemical component that were then tested and acted upon within in the biological research lab in order to prevent biofilm formation in species such as B. subtilis, S. aureus, etc.
Genetics Research Student:
- Spring 2021 As a student I was able to contribute to Linda Hensel's research project regarding bacterial mutants and grow mutants in order to test them against synthesized drugs to prevent biofilm formation in multiple pathways.
Warming Center Volunteer: Winter 2020-Spring 2021
- Throughout winter 2020 Macon GA's mayor following Christmas decided to open a Warming Center in order to get homelessness off the streets and needed student volunteers to work during the day as well as night shifts to stock, organize, and facilitate the Warming Center. Over the time it was open for three months I was able to volunteer at various times throughout the week to organize and filter donations as well as put together rooms and kits for families who entered the center.
Lettie Pate Women's Scholarship Service Community & Mentor: Fall 2019-Current
- Throughout this scholarship society I have been able to contribute my efforts into the Service Branch and plan and facilitate service events that the scholarship society as a group participates in within the Mercer and Macon Community.
- As past of this organization entering sophomore year I had the ability to take on a mentee to show the ropes for their first year of college and act as a person they could come to with questions for things that came up throughout freshman year.
Mercer Ambassador: Spring 2021-Current
- Member, Alumni Association group that are recommended by members of Mercer University Staff and put through an application and interview process in order to be chosen for the opportunity to represent Mercer at Alumni events. This opportunity has allowed me to forge connections with Alumni as I further my academic career, and represent Mercer University in a positive manner by learning and working with Alumni who contribute great amount of support to our programs.
Research Student: Fall 2021-Current
- With Chemistry Staff member David Goode whom I took both organic chemistry courses with I have had the ability to be a part of his team in order to further his research in organic and biochemical studies.
United Way Leadership Board Member: Spring 2021-Current
- I have had to opportunity to work with United Way within the Macon community and starting in Spring of 2021 kickstart a student leadership program at Mercer University in order to work with them to promote service events and fundraising for community partners.
