I graduated from Millbrook High School in 2011, from there I went to summer school at Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania. I attended Shippensburg University for one semester after summer school, and while attending I wrestled. After leaving Shippensburg University I attended Lord Fairfax Community College for one semester. After leaving Lord Fairfax Community College I began working a Construction Job. I was then offered a volunteer assistant coaching position to help coach wrestling at the high school that I had graduated from. I then volunteered time at a welding shop, Haupt Welding, in Danville, PA. I chose to volunteer time at the welding shop to see if it was a career that I would like to pursue. I then moved back to Virginia and am currently working for a chimney company, Advanced Chimney Technologies.
I am currently working as a chimney sweep for Advanced Chimney Technologies. My job as a chimney sweep is to inspect and repair the interior and exterior of the chimney and the system running to the chimney. Some of the responsibilities of a chimney sweep are: assembly and to disassemble scaffolds, repair of flashing, concrete repair on the crown, tuck pointing the grout joints, cutting brick to lay a new chimney, installation of liner systems, and mixing mortar.
I was in charge of getting estimates of materials for the upcoming jobs, and the pick up and delivery of materials to the job site. I was a carpenter helper where I assisted carpenters with all phases of rough and finish carpentry. I cut materials to specified sizes using power saws and tile cutters. I also performed heavy labor such as digging footer holes, spreading and leveling dirt, and moving gravel loads by wheel barrow.
I was a welder helper at Haupt Welding in Danville, PA. I have always been interested in welding and wanted to experience what it would be like to be a welder as a career. Haupt Welding allowed me to shadow their welders, and after three months of shadowing I had decided that I wanted to pursue it as a career.
I was a volunteer assistant high school wrestling coach at Millbrook High School. I was in charge of helping make practice plans, running practices, and the writing of the itinerary which was given to the wrestlers and parents.
I attended Lord Fairfax Community College for the Spring semester of 2012, and declared my major as criminal justice.
I attended Shippensburg University for summer school in the summer of 2011. I also attended for the Fall semester of 2011, and had an undeclared major.
