My time at Harvard University was a life changing experience. Unsure of which direction I would take my career, I chose to challenge myself and fulfill credits in the physical sciences and writing. I hold a 3.0 GPA in Physics, Chemistry, and Expository Writing.
I am contracted through a state advocacy agency for the State of Connecticut Network of Care Transformation (known as "Connect") federal grant.
Our mission is to build family leadership and community mobilization for the well being of children, youth, and families.
I work collaboratively with a team of certified advocates across the state to coordinate on site family and youth advocacy training.
Voting member of the Advisory Council, and Family Advisory Board member for DCF Region 3.
I bring the voices and stories of families to the Advisory Council of the State of Connecticut Department of Children and Families.
It is my responsibility to mediate, mentor, and advocate for families impacted by the actions of the Department, specifically focused on children and families in need of Mental Health Services.
I served in the United States Army, spending two years active duty, serving in the Army Reserve until 1999.
My primary duties were to assist Army dentists chair side using four handed dentistry in a clinical setting, and perform a variety of administrative tasks as assigned by my Commanding Officer.
I currently write and apply for grant money to build an accessible playground in Plainfield, CT.
I am also theCorporate Account Manager for this project.
Daily activities can include meeting with ARC business staff, marketing, web development, grant writing, phone calls to various businesses, and community engagement.
This position also requires knowledge and use of data compilation and analysis.I have worked closely with the advisory board and project management to increase funding through grant writing, fund raising, and corporate partnerships.
