Have aided in preparing for Emergency Sternotomy at the bedside due to serious complications in cardiac surgery patients. Due to our quick response in implementing the new CALS (Cardiac Surgery Advanced Life Support) protocol, many patients have a great survival rate. One patient I can think of that is post resternotomy, is doing very well after his lengthy critical hospital stay and has gone back to work at his job at Disneyland. Thats the perks of this job.
