Visionary Operations Executive with solid experience managing all levels of multiple projects including project organization and administration.
As a capitan of industry in the reptile community and national public speaker. I have been organizing, motivating, and leading people and growth in the community for almost 20 years.
After helping to facilitate the growth of WRI into the biggest state licensed rehabilitator I moved into the political arena creating SAVES as a grassroots organization to defend the Exotic animal community on the state level. Later I constructed the Board for REV organizing on of the largest groups of state permit holders and trainers for public education in the state.
Over the last decade I have lead and organized group meeting as well as rallys and lobbying efforts involving hundreds of people being lead through the capitol by myself and a handful of others. Not only do I organize shows throughout the country on a monthly basis but also setting up lectures, presenters, and orgainizing which groups are responsible for what events etc. I direct and appoint people to successfully lead projects on a daily basis.
As one of the very few representatives for the the private community I was summonded by the Governor, UVA, and State officials to participate and negotiate new tactics and approachs for exotic animal ownership as well as responsiblities on the state level. Virginia's Dangerous Animal Initiative is a one of a kind event that requested zooowners, professionals, and representatives from some of the largest Wildlife groups in the country to find a resonable realistic approach to the issues with parties who did not always see eye to eye. We successfully finished the project and it was submitted to the governor which lead to the protection of private keepers statewide despite such varing views and opinions.
For over a decade I helped teach, train, and lecture with WRI. I was asked to join the very select board as the RT Director for which I oversaw all efforts dealing with the thousands of wildlife calls which come in yearly to WRI. These range from squirrells in pools, to bears in peoples yards. I worked directly as and with first responders and law enforcement and State Fish and game in dealing with violations and confiscations. WRI is a fantastic organization which sits on 70 acres of private refuge in the City of Chesapeake. It is the states premier wildlife rescue and organization for animals ranging from rattlesnakes to falcons. I have a great relationship with WRI and continue to support and work with them on their growth and development.
My degree has a heavy focus in Animal Behavior and Zoology.
I am an educator who is experienced in giving wildlife demonstrations to various organizations. My Wife and I have not only worked together across the state in Veterinary persuits but as well as organizing events and shows. My friends are all also very active in our group trips and adventures in the US and abroad. I am considered an authority on native and exotic venomous reptiles and have worked with some of the rarest and most beautiful reptiles in the world. Not limited to that I have also filmed whale sharks underwater in the gulf of mexico and occassionally scouted for Wildlife with several of our local hunt clubs and Universities. I have worked with many zoos, theme parks and organizations from Busch Gardens Williamsburg and the Virginia Living Museum to the special Olympics equestrian team training horses which not only qualified but won silver and fifth place in the 1998 games in Raleigh North Carolina. I am extremely passionate about and dedicated to everything I do and possess the ability and mentality of a natural leader. My wife and I are looking forward to what the next move or adventure entails.
