I am a proficient and hardworking beertender who has studied and learned all aspects of the craft beer industry. Within a short time, I was promoted from a busser to a bartender and also received the Employee of the Month Award in November 2013 based on exceptional customer service, time management, and efficiency. I have always gone above and beyond in the tasting room and during special events to ensure people enjoy their brewery experience. The GFBC tasting room was awarded the best tasting room in San Diego from City Beat Magazine for 2013.
Hired as a busser in June of 2011, within two months I was promoted to a server. As a certified beer server under the Cicerone program, I have a comprehensive knowledge of draft systems, beer styles, and sensory vocabulary. I am proficient with both Aloha and Auphan P.O.S. systems. As a frequent closing bartender, I am responsible for closing out and balancing the cash drawers which are reviewed by Management the following day. I was initially hired at the Taproom to deliver food, monitor the pizza oven, and bus tables. Within six months I was accepting more responsibilities to increase my tip-out from bartenders and servers. My first season working at Bear Mountain was spent checking lift tickets, maintaining flow and control of lift lines, bumping chairs, and ensuring all riders get on the lifts safe while smiling and being friendly to patrons. By my second season, I accepted additional duties. I was on the set up crew in the morning, setting lift lines and ensuring all barricades were properly set up. A quarter way through the season, I was promoted to Head Lift Operator of the mountains busiest and most rambunctious lift. The increased responsibilities assumed by new position included inspecting the chair every morning, ensuring that it is safe for all guests, organizing breaks and scheduling I was awarded Employee of the Month for how well commanded the busiest chair on the mountain. While working at places with 20+ different draft beers I have the ability to find the right beer any patron based on a few simple questions. Many of my skills include are are not limited to being: honest, hardworking, friendly, and polite. I have also mastered time management with a great sense of urgency as well as possess bar management and leadership skills. I have a good understanding how bars and restaurants need to operate to be a successful business as well as a friendly establishment for repeat customers.
