As long as I can remember, I have been a person of passion. I have always taken pride in coming from a family that supported and encouraged me to explore my interests. Whether it was art, music, academics, or sports I have always reached far and taken grasp of the things I love. Through this dedication I have learned quite a bit about all of my interests including my passion for beer. Growing up though, I never really had an interest in drinking. It wasn't until I was about 20 and with a good friend of mine in Albany, NY who really interested and introduced me to the world of beer. Over the years I have learned about many styles of beer, sampled various examples of these styles, and found myself deeply in love with beers. As I mentioned, my family has been behind me in this pursuit of mine. My mom actually was the one who introduced me to the Cicerone program and since then I have devoted myself to this goal of one day becoming a Certified Cicerone Over the years I have enjoyed working through a few interesting jobs, but have been interested in becoming involved in the beer industry for a while now. I realized that working should be something you love as well as something that provides you with the means to do what you love. I have always devoted myself to the things I love such as music and design, whether through playing in bands, doing graphic design work for my friends, or simply by helping my friends' bands. Now, I want to do the same for my passion for beer and give others the quality and the care I believe their beer deserves.

Beer Department ($8.00-$9.00/hr)Bullock's Wine & Spirits － Woodstock, GA
My job at Bullock's provides me with a decent amount of variety with my main focus being on the beer areas. Working with customers, educating them on styles, breweries, and serving options have been the pride of my work.
I as well frequently work in the cooler, stocking shelves, rotating inventory, handling Keg carry outs and maintaining a very organized and well put together workspace for myself. Beyond the beer, I often work on the floor in the liquor department stocking the shelves, flipping displays, and helping customers to the best of my abilities.
I work with the distributors getting themselves set up in the coolers and on the shelves so that everyone is presented in the best way possible for customers. I enjoy working with them and my managers, helping to show my managers what are the current trends in beer on a local, regional, and national scale.

Overnight Stocker ($8.25/hr)Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market － Marietta, GA
Being an Overnight Stocker at Wal-Mart isn't a glamorous job, but it was certainly enjoyable. My main responsibilities were stocking and organizing isles, maintaining a clean work space, and handling overstock. Often, I worked in the "Dairy Department" which provided more exciting opportunities and a bit more variety. Occasionally I worked with customers, but my interactions were fairly limited that late at night.

Cook ($8.50/hr)Marietta Pizza Company － Marietta, GA
Working here was brief, but exciting.
My responsibilities included prep for the day, pizza making, cleaning, and occasionally leading tickets.

Insider ($7.75-$8.00/hr)Papa John's Pizza － Marietta, GA
As an Insider at Papa John's I was expected to perform and carry out various responsibilities ranging from handling customers to cooking pizzas to various cleaning responsibilities.
After being there for so long, I found myself as a bit of a leader among my co-workers. I was usually handling training new employees and was also working at a level equal to some of my managers. I enjoyed my job a great deal and I handled many responsibilities, more unique to myself than my position.
I learned inventory, dough management, cleaning, customer relations beyond just basic order interactions, and was often responsible for the till. The most important aspect of my job for me was definitely the involvement with my co-workers and leading everyone by experience. Teaching people how best to deal with customers beyond just a simple "how may I take your order" approach and helping people to realize that every customer deserves their own little moment and that every order whether it was an order of breadsticks or 100 pizzas) is more important than just a pizza score" or any number.
