Awarded the Bronze Star Medal in 2010 for performance in Afghanistan.
Completed the academically challenging and time demanding Phase 1 of the United States Army Sergeant's Major Academy. The course consisted of intense writing assignments, hundreds of hours of research and studying, all of which were done on personal time and with no impact to my duty performance as the 86th Brigade Special Troops Battalion full-time Operations Sergeant. This is an opportunity granted to 13% of Soldiers of commensurate rank across the Army. First Army National Guard Soldier selected to serve as the Udairi Range Master Gunner in Kuwait. Served from February 2004-December 2005, collaborating with military and civilian personnel across several high-level government agencies, to manage personnel and resources in order to support 26,000 Soldiers, Marine and Airmen prior to their movement into Iraq. Successfully managed $2 million resource budgets over the past 13 without a single incident of waste, fraud or abuse. Always ensured Soldiers had the required resources to complete all assigned missions. Commendably led an undermanned and cross-functional training team of 16 personnel responsible for essential theater-training requirements, supplies and transportation to deployed soldiers to Region Command (RC) East, Afghanistan. The physical training program relieves stress and focuses on resiliency. One must remain both mentally and physically strong to ensure a year-long deployment. I felt that I owed that to the families of the deployed Soldiers so their Soldier returned home in at least as good condition as when I received them.
