Since 2014, I have volunteered with the Blackburn Center located in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. I have helped with preparing for an event they have each year called Walk a Mile in her Shoes. In 2019, I prepared coffee cambros with Greengate Starbucks located in Greensburg to donate over $1,000 worth of coffee and tea to the event. I have also passed out flyers to local businesses, as well as helped with signing people up to participate in the event. During the event, I am one of the people that goes around to each of the check in stations to make sure that each booth has enough shirts, wristbands, sign in papers, and water/snacks for the workers. I stay there all day long to help with the set up as well as clean up tear down of the event.
During high school, I was involved with volunteering for the Special Olympics bowling that was held each year at Hillview Lanes in Greensburg. Here, I would go around to each lane, collect scores, as well as give out prizes to the participants. On top of this event, I also was the lead for two of the largest fundraisers that Hempfield Area Senior High School saw during my senior year. I was in charge of setting up fundraiser websites, as well as collecting donations from local businesses to have at the bake sales. A lot of things were donated, including movie theater popcorn, Texas Roadhouse rolls and butter, Chick-fil-A sandwiches, and so much more from other students and faculty. I was in charge of the set up process, as well as staying after school to do the clean up and tear down process.
