I am a goal oriented, hard worker. I have been in and around the auto body industry my entire life, starting with the fact that my father owned a body shop in Mathews County, Virginia that opened in 1975. He owned and operated Jim's Auto Body until 2007, at which point it was sold to Haskins Bayside Collision Center.
While working at Contemporary Kitchens I build, finished, and installed high end kitchens. This is where I learned my customer service skills, as I often had to interact with the customer to ensure their absolute satisfaction in the kitchen that we were creating for them.
When the recession hit, Contemporary Kitchens was unable to employ me any longer. I looked for work, finally finding it at Haskins Bayside Collision Center. I began working there as a carpenter, and worked my way up to a body technician, to a painter within a year, due to my experience finishing cabinets and working with my father during high school.
I outgrew Haskins very quickly due to my perfectionist nature. I wish to ensure the best quality for the customers, so I waited patiently for an opening at Gunn's, which was reputed to be one of the best shops in this area. I was recruited by the current owner to be the second painter at Gunn's.
In order to best due my job, I have to understand how an estimate is written, what each portion means, and I have to be able to explain all of this to the customer. This is a portion of my job that I have excelled at in recent years, due to my interest in writing correct estimates.
