The research addresses the divergent perspectives of police legitimacy within the communities they serve. Mixed methods of surveys and qualitative interviews are used to determine the human needs for understanding and mutual respect between both law enforcement officers and citizens. Not only will this proposal constitute scholarly research, it will produce community forums of dialogue and interaction between police officers and citizens to renew trust and human understanding.
Senior Researcher for Summer in the Parks Program Ethnographic Project: The African-American Experience George Mason University Fairfax, Va
Funded by the National Park Service .The public purpose and benefit of this project is to interpret the historical contexts for the Nation's Capital Region (NCR) cultural resources provided through the Summer in the Parks Program from 1968-1976. The senior researcher is responsible for designing, staffing, and implementing an in-depth interview methodology in Washington, D.C.Data management and analysis utilizing proper Library of Congress recording, documenting, and archiving method is used. The NCR project data will be disseminated through publications, distribution of materials, seminars, and symposia.
