Experience
06/2000 to 05/2005
Assistant Store Manager-Trade Services Manager EXPO Design Center/Home Depot City, STATE,

Participated in the creation and build-out of a new EXPO Design Center store opened in Oakland, CA in 2000 as Department Supervisor of Kitchen Cabinets and Countertop Design. I was involved in complete setup of each department and merchandising as well as visual displays of merchandise.

Promoted to Department Supervisor of "Trade Services", a brand new department, in 2001. As the first manager, I was responsible for interviewing and hiring a staff of 8 sales associates and project designers. I created the framework for this new department which dealt directly with architects, builders, contractors and designers. EXPO created the Trade Services Department in each of its Design Centers and our Oakland EXPO Trade Services department was consistently ranked #1 for sales for ALL EXPO Design Centers. Our department provided complete customer service from concept and design through sales and installation.

HIGHLIGHTS: Awarded #1 Trade Services Department in the U.S. in 2001 with 140% to Plan-28% Store Penetration; Also honored for #1 Trade Services department in The U.S. for 2002 and 2003.

One of my proudest accomplishments at EXPO was working with every department to become partners with Trade Services and to direct qualified customers to Trade Services for specialized customer service.

Promoted to Assistant Store Manager at EXPO Design Center in Palo Alto, CA. in 2003. My direct ASM responsibility was to supervise the Kitchen & Bath designer staff which resulted in an average "Project" sale was $88,000. This highly visible department was responsible for 75% of overall store sales. I am very proud of the fact that our EXPO Design Center was the only EXPO store ever to break into the top 10 Home Depot Stores list for monthly sales accomplishments. The store manager (GM) was frequently away for training and as the lead ASM, I often fulfilled the supervisory duties of GM. I also worked closely with the store H.R. manager to interview, hire and maintain store staff. I worked closely with the Loss Prevention manager to develop and implement new loss prevention methods which resulted in a 10% reduction in shrinkage.

*I received a special appreciation award from The Center for Citizen Initiatives which is a partnership between Russia & The U.S. for "providing invaluable contributions to the retail owners and managers" for hosting their delegation at our store in 2003. I extended the invitation to the group and they sent their entire delegation of about 40 business owners and managers. It was tremendous opportunity to show off our EXPO Design Center and to interact with some really wonderful business people and to help them understand what our store was all about.

03/1991 to 05/2000

Opened and managed (GM) a retail facility (including a stand alone Kiosk) at Prudential Mall in Boston, Mass. I had complete responsibility for hiring, training and maintaining sales staff of 12.

Highlights: I received recognition for my creative techniques for finding new corporate clients and for outstanding sales in 1994 and 1995.
