Have taught literature and writing in metro Boston area for fifteen years. My primary interest is modern Irish literature, but I cover American , world, and European topics as well. Teaching writing is a platform to engage students in active critical thinking so as to develop course topics during a semester length course. Have published reviews and newspaper print, and I continue to work on a study of James Joyce. Have offered many papers in the US through ACIS and papers in Ireland and Switzerland.
Irish Literature and Drama My work on James Joyce has developed from my Dissertation: 'Toward a Unity of Being: Joyce's Journey from Dubliners to Ulysses', now in revision for publication. Intensive seminar program in Hiberno-English Literature included major figures in prose, poetry, drama, history, and language, and politics.
English and American Literature and Language 'Endword: Resolution in selected dramatic texts of Samuel Beckett'. Writing intensive curriculum focused on ethnic experience of American life, poetry and criticism, classics, history, American Romanticism in art and literature.
