Provide excellent pre-operative, peri-operative, post-operative and telephonic patient care as well as provide moderate sedation intra-operatively as needed. This includes obtaining vital signs, evaluating medical history to ensure patient candidacy for surgery in an out-patient setting, starting IV's, giving IV and oral medications as ordered, monitoring post-op patients and providing discharge instructions. Supervise 20 employees, led recruiting and hiring, managed employee review process and ensured compliance with state and federal regulations. Develop and maintain quality care systems and standards, including but not limited to, creating and improving medical protocols/guidelines. Actively participates in unit-based Quality Assurance Program. Performed all tasks with a patient-centered focus while seeking opportunities for improvement of processes and treatments.
Head the onboarding process and training for new nursing staff, 09/2005 - 02/2014
PEACHTREE SPINE PHYSICIANS City, STATE, Oversee the day-to-day clinical and administrative operations of a 6-physician/6-location single-specialty medical practice and AAAHC accredited Ambulatory Surgery Center. Primary responsibilities: -Provide quality/compassionate nursing care. I perform all aspects of nursing care in all areas of the surgery center such as triage (IV insertion, procedure education, VS, medication administration), the procedure room (Sedation administration and monitoring) and in PACU (discharge instructions, monitoring) as well as provide telephonic nursing care.
