  • Primary duties were linked to maintaining the safe and efficient operating capacity of electronics systems required for the world's largest air traffic control and navigation system.
  • Installed, evaluated, maintained, modified facilities, systems, services and equipment that support the National Airspace System (NAS).
  • Was also responsible for various auxiliary duties that contribute to providing reliable and safe FAA services to the flying public.
  • This involves working with surveillance radar, weather, communications, and navigational aid equipment as well as various environmental support facilities and equipment.
  • Work also included periodic maintenance, modification, troubleshooting, repair and replacement of malfunctioning equipment.
  • Required to maintain facilities, subsystems, individual services or equipment that assist in the safe and expedient movement of air traffic throughout the NAS.
  • Technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Perform site work for NAS systems, radar, NAVAIDS/VISAIDS, weather equipment, TRACONs & Control Towers.
  • Perform work for radios and associated equipment at Remote Transmitter/Receiver sites.
  • Perform work for radar and associated equipment at Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR) facilities.

  • Develop knowledge of internal and external pipeline corrosion programs.
