As a Border Patrol Agent my primary goal is to secure Americas borders. While serving as a Border Patrol Agent, I have successfully enforced criminal and immigration laws and preformed a vast array of duties necessary to uphold our nation's laws, while conforming to the Border Patrol's Strategic Plan. While being assigned to the Campo Border Patrol Station, I have performed linewatch operations within the Campo Station's Area of Responsibility. Linewatch operations include patrolling the United States/Mexico Border, conducting Immigration Checkpoint Operations, conducting Roving Patrol Operations, and various other duties necessary to accomplish the mission of securing Americas borders.
The Analysis, Targeted Enforcement & Mapping team is responsible for creating and maintaining databases and forms utilized for the collection and analysis of field data, information and raw intelligence. The ATEAM prepares and completes time sensitive reports and projects as requested by the CHU Command Staff. They also conduct traffic pattern analysis through mapping and data quarrying and provide recommendations for the deployment of resources to the Sensor Crew. The ATEAM disseminates weekly reports to the Watch Commanders and their patrol groups, which document recent patterns and highlight significant events. In addition, the ATEAM creates and maintains all mapping products for the station.
Worked closely with station abatement team in developing intelligence during the investigation of 18 USC 1324 resulting in death. Successful prosecution resulted in 57 and 84 month sentence.
Worked closely with station abatement in developing and processing intelligence for Operation Mousetrap. Successful prosecution of UNITED STATES vs Sanchez-Garcia et all resulted in 3 year sentence.
Worked closely with station abatement and Foreign Operations Branch in the apprehension and arrest of Mexican national wanted for child molestation and homicide. Successful turn over to Mexican government at San Ysidro Port of Entry.
Trained a team of four agents in the troubleshooting and deployment of ground based seismic and infrared sensors. Planned, prepared, and delegated daily operations. Reviewed and authorized all work conducted by sensors agents. Conducted risk assessments surveys to determine the best location and option for intrusion detection equipment. Developed and maintained tracking databases for sensor equipment inventory and deployment locations.
The Sensor Crew deploys and maintains imaging, seismic and infrared sensors in CHU's AOR. The crew regularly checks sensor results to determine the effectiveness of each sensor in order to utilize each resource to its maximum capability. Effective sensor deployment and the ability to redeploy sensors and adjust to changing traffic patterns is the hallmark of the Sensor Crew. Sensors assisted on 56% of station apprehensions in fiscal year 2015.
