Before you start organizing your letter into paragraphs, create a header with your full name and contact information. Greet the hiring manager by name (if possible) in your salutation. In the first paragraph, you should introduce yourself with a pitch that grabs the reader's attention. You need to intrigue the hiring manager so he or she will continue reading your letter.
The body of your letter should contain one or two short paragraphs that illuminate the top reasons you are the right person for the job. Focus on transferable skills and the most impressive accomplishments of your career. Remember to only include information that directly relates to the job you want. Close with a concise paragraph thanking the reader for his or her time and reiterating your desire for an interview.
