As the resume samples show, the education section generally sits at the bottom of the document. However, if you are a recent graduate without much career experience or are applying for a position with strict educational requirements, you may want to move the education section higher than the work experience section. Either way, make sure you include a clear header to make it easy for the reader to find your academic achievements.
As for the actual content of your education section, you don't need to include too many details. Leave out references to high school unless that's the highest education you have. Otherwise, list your degrees, including the title, conferring institution, and date of graduation for each one. You don't need to state your GPA. Don't forget to include certifications and professional development courses.
